Why does my Reddit post get no upvotes?

A post stuck at 1 upvote usually isn't a bad post. Most of the time, not many people saw it. These are the most common reasons.

It was removed and you can't tell

Subreddits often filter posts automatically, for example from new accounts or accounts with low karma. The post can still look normal to you. To check, open it in a private browser window while logged out. If you can't find it, message the moderators and ask politely.

It got no early activity

New posts compete for attention with everything else posted that hour. Reddit's feeds favor posts that pick up activity quickly, so a post that gets nothing at the start often never reaches many people.

You posted when your audience was asleep

If most of a subreddit's readers are offline when you post, your post can be buried before they wake up. Post shortly before your readers become active.

The title didn't earn the click

Most people decide from the title alone. Vague titles like "Need advice" or "Check this out" get skipped. Say what the post is about and why someone should care.

It doesn't fit the subreddit

A good post in the wrong place gets ignored or downvoted. Read the rules, look at what's doing well this month, and match that format.

It looks like an ad

Redditors are quick to downvote anything that feels like promotion. Lead with something useful, and keep any link secondary.

Upvoterr can help with the early activity problem. We share your post with Redditors matched to its topic soon after you order, and they decide for themselves how to respond. It can't fix a removed post or a poor fit, so check those first. Results aren't guaranteed.
